Raw Materials and the Environment
The raw materials used in Isotta fragrances are all of natural origin, preferably organic or wild-harvested. They consist primarily of essential oils obtained through hydrodistillation, as well as CO₂ extracts (an “extraction by pressure” process), and, more rarely, isolates (distillation fractions) and a few natural molecules derived from biotechnology (such as fermentation).
None of our absolutes are obtained through extraction with petrochemical solvents, which always leave traces. Resinoids are extracted with alcohol. The alcohol is derived from organic wheat and produced in France; it is not denatured—or rather, it is, but only because it is mixed with the concentrates.

These raw materials are grown and harvested around the world by small-scale artisan producers whom we have carefully selected over the years. We also purchase from suppliers in Grasse whose sourcing teams do remarkable work.
We have created a map below that shows the origin of each raw material we use.
Unfortunately, it’s impossible to create perfumes using only local ingredients, since sandalwood doesn’t grow in our tropical climate—nor do vanilla or vetiver… It might be possible to formulate one, an eau de cologne for example—now that’s a project!
We use screw-top spray nozzles on our glass bottles, which allows them to be recycled or reused. The boxes and tissue paper packaging are made from paper sourced from sustainably managed forests. A minimal amount of plastic is used (for the spray). The scent strips are made of paper. The containers in the laboratory are made of glass. Raw materials and concentrates are stored in glass containers.
The designer does for you what she does for herself: she pays attention to all these little details at every stage of her work.
